Today we went to the Cox Arboretum. As soon as we got there, my breath was taken away. It is not often that a person gets to be in nature. It seems teenagers and adults alike, often stay inside and never experience nature as often as they should. Going to the Cox Arboretum was a huge breath of fresh air. The scenery was beautiful. It made me think of how the world is now. I know that if humans all around do not make a change do their tactics, real nature will never be the same. It seems that humankind has done so much bad to the earth. If we do not make a positive change, the earth will be ruined. Something that I think we all take for granted is trees. The Cox Arboretum had an abundant amount of trees of all kind. I think many people do not realize how much we rely on trees to survive. We use them to breathe, to make materials, and to use as shelter. Seeing and experiencing nature again at the Cox Arboretum helped me realize this once again.

Something interesting that we found was a flower that looked like coconut “Snoball”. As soon as we saw it, we all thought the same thing, “it looks good enough to eat!”. The flower had white petals with splashes of pink. It was in a little ball shape towered on top of each other. Looking at them made me very hungry. After exploring, my friends and I ate lunch. We sat on rocks watching the pond and the critters around. Heading back to school was sad. The Cox Arboretum was an amazing experience. Everyone in my group agreed that we want to come back in the near future!
